Metro, which operates public transport in the US capital, is proposing to save money by ending weekends, closing 19 stations and cutting bus routes in half.

According to her, these proposals are set out in the company’s draft budget for the next financial year.
Metro CEO Paul Wydefeld explained the need for these measures by the significant financial losses the company has suffered due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The proposed restrictions, he explained, would reduce next year’s planned operating expenses by $ 500 million.
