In her work, the model explores the theme of femininity and the relationship of a man to a woman.
Recently Emily Ratajkowski announced the release of her collection of essays entitled “My Body” (My Body). The model showed subscribers a photograph of the manuscript, which had not yet been formed into a book, and wrote:
It is with excitement and awe to announce that my collection of essays, My Body, will be released by Metropolitan Books. It’s incredible that I work with a publishing house that many authors I respect have worked with (Noam Chomsky! Edward Snowden!). Now it’s time to get to work!
Emily’s book will be out in 2022. In it, the celebrity explores “what it means to be a woman, how men relate to women and why women allow it.”
Emily Ratajkowski has shown herself to be incredibly honest, knowledgeable and strong – I’m not surprised she thinks of herself as a writer in the first place. I also admire how outspoken, political and fearless she is – what a force she can become!
Metropolitan editor Sarah Bershtel said in a statement to the Associated Press last week.
Despite the fact that Emily puts a lot of emphasis on the beauty of her body and the topic of sexuality in general, she states that this does not “define her” at all.
The fact that I use my image and benefit from it as a model seems more like a way of survival, rather than how I define myself. Working as a model was a great way to make money and gain stability. But along with this also came a strange fame. Probably every girl at heart wants to become famous, but for me it was not a goal at all,
– said Emily in an interview with GQ.
