White House spokeswoman Kayleigh McEnani said on Monday that she had contracted the coronavirus and would be quarantined, but would continue to do her work remotely. McEnani said the White House Medical Service did not include any of the press on the list of people who had close contact with her.
Makanani also said that she was tested every day, starting on Thursday, but received a positive result only on Monday.
“Moreover, I was completely unaware of Hope Hicks’ diagnosis prior to the White House briefing on Thursday,” she added. It became known last Thursday that President’s adviser Hope Hicks had been diagnosed with the coronavirus, and a few hours later Trump himself announced that he and his wife had also become infected.
