The World Boxing Council (WBC) has appointed a mandatory defense for the reigning second flyweight champion (up to 52.2 kg), Mexican Juan Francisco Estrada (41-3-0, 28 KO), against the 1st rating and the former holder of this title, Thai Visaxila Wangeka (49-5-1, 42 KO).
According to the decree, Estrada is obliged to fight Wangek in the next fight, which, most likely, will put an end to the megafight with Nicaraguan Roman Gonzalez (50-2-0, 42 KO) early next year.
Recall that Estrada and Wangek met twice – in February 2018 and April 2019. The first meeting ended with a controversial victory (split decision) of the Thai, who was at that time the champion. A year later, the Mexican took revenge.
