WBC President: “One thing is clear now, Fury vs. Wilder is due on December 19”

The long-awaited duel between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder has been postponed more than once for various reasons, and now it is in danger of breaking down. As a last resort, Fury thinks so, who announced yesterday that he would not fight Wilder. Instead, the WBC heavyweight champion plans to fight an unknown opponent on December 5, after which he promises to face Anthony Joshua in the ring in 2021. Fury tweeted on Monday:

“The Gypsy King returns home to the United Kingdom. See you in December.”

However, WBC President Mauricio Suleiman expressed surprise to hear about such a decision of the athlete. During a virtual roundtable with media representatives, the WBC chief boss stated that he had not received any official notices:

“At the moment, one thing is clear – the fight will take place on December 19. Everything else is an informal communication between the participants of the match and representatives of their teams. And today I appeal to them with an urgent request to finally clarify the situation with the third fight.”
