US sets new record for deaths from COVID-19

The United States has set a new sad record for the number of deaths from coronavirus per day. According to Johns Hopkins University, the figure was 3,725 on Tuesday.

The previous record, reached on December 16, was 3656 deaths.

As of Wednesday morning, there were 338,656 deaths from COVID-19 in the United States.

Meanwhile, around the world, 82 million people have been diagnosed with coronavirus.

In terms of the number of cases, the United States ranks first in the world – about 19.5 million people.
