WASHINGTON – The United States has sent two B-52H bombers to the Middle East as part of an ongoing effort to contain possible attacks from Iran, a senior US military official said.
“This is not an offensive operation. It is about containing Iran, ”the source said, adding that the military noted“ warning signs ”of planning attacks in Iraq. Iran or its supportive puppet forces are believed to be behind this.
Combined with the ongoing drawdown of the American contingent in Iraq and the upcoming anniversary of the elimination of Quds commander Qasem Soleimani, these signs pose an “above average” risk, the source explained.
Two B-52H bombers took off from Barksdale Air Force Base in Louisiana.
