The duel of Russian light heavyweights Umar Salamov and Maxim Vlasov is once again postponed to a later date. This was announced by the organizers of the event in an interview with the TASS news agency.
“Salamov passed a positive test for coronavirus, the fight will not take place,” the agency’s source said.
Let us remind you that the battle between Salamov and Vlasov was supposed to take place on November 20 in Minsk. At stake is contender status for the vacant WBO light heavyweight title, which was vacated by Saul Alvarez after the Mexican made the decision to descend to 168-pounds.
It is worth noting that at the moment 25-year-old Salamov occupies the second line in the WBO ranking, while Vlasov settled on the position at number three. Salamov has 25 wins (19 by knockout) and only one defeat. Vlasov, in the professional ring, won 45 victories (26 by knockout) and suffered three failures.
