According to the official website of the Russian Boxing Federation, the fight for the status of a mandatory contender in the WBO light heavyweight division between Maxim Vlasov and Umar Salamov will be held on November 20 in St. Petersburg.
Recall that initially this fight was supposed to take place on October 23rd in Moscow, but was later postponed due to the injury of Artur Beterbiev, who fought in the main battle of the evening. The winner of the Salamov-Vlasov confrontation will challenge the vacant WBO title with American Joe Smith Jr., who knocked out former champion Eleider Alvarez last month.
It is worth noting that at the moment 25-year-old Salamov occupies the second line in the WBO ranking, while Vlasov settled on the position at number three. Salamov has 25 wins (19 by knockout) and only one defeat. Vlasov, on the professional ring, won 45 victories (26 by knockout) and suffered three failures.
