The General Secretary of the Russian Boxing Federation Umar Kremlev does not give up hope of seeing a rematch between Murat Gassiev and Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usik.
Recall that both boxers met in the ring in July 2018, when they were still performing in the first heavyweight division. Usyk, who surpassed his opponent by a head in technical skills and speed, defeated Gassiev and won the title of absolute champion.
“God grant that Murat will recover quickly and start holding fights. Yes, Alexander is a good boxer and athlete, but I have faith that Murat can win this fight. Therefore, I want to see revenge – to put an end to the confrontation”, – said Kremlin in an interview with the TASS news agency.
It is planned that Murat Gassiev will hold his next fight on October 31 in Sochi against 41-year-old Kevin Johnson. For the Russian, this fight will be his debut in the heavyweight division.
