US President Joe Biden intends to first of all call the leaders of allied countries, the White House said.
The first telephone talks will take place with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.
White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said that she did not know anything about plans to talk with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“I have nothing to say about the plans to speak to President Putin by telephone,” Psaki said at the briefing.
In a conversation with the Prime Minister of Canada, Mr. Biden intends to discuss blocking the construction of the Keystone XL pipeline on the border of the two countries.
This is one of the first decisions of the President of the United States, made on the day of the inauguration.
