The promoter of Alexander Povetkin commented on the state of his ward

The head of the World of Boxing promotion company Andrei Ryabinsky spoke about the state of health of the interim WBC champion Alexander Povetkin, who had to interrupt preparations for a rematch with Dillian White due to a positive test for coronavirus.

“Sasha is now in one of the Moscow hospitals, he has a fever and other symptoms, without critical complications. Sasha is a healthy and strong guy, we hope that he will recover quickly,” the official Instagram account of the World of Boxing quotes Ryabinsky as saying.

Note that the preliminary new date for the rematch is January 30th. However, more detailed and accurate information about the date and place of the battle will appear later.

Recall that in the first fight, which took place on August 23, Povetkin sensationally defeated Dillian White, knocking out the Briton in the fifth round. This victory allowed the Russian to win the interim WBC world champion title and the WBC Diamond title.
