The second full-scale test flight of SpaceX’s prototype Starship spacecraft culminated in another crash landing with an explosion.
Elon Musk’s company launched a new Starship prototype from the southeastern tip of Texas on Tuesday. The shiny stainless steel rocket has reached its planned height of over 9.5 kilometers over the Gulf of Mexico.
Everything seemed to be going well as Starship rolled onto its side and began to descend.
Ho e was never able to straighten up for a landing, and he crashed into the ground just like the previous prototype in December.
Musk is developing Starship for manned flight to Mars.
