Billionaire Jared Isaacman, founder of payment service Shift4, has launched a competition to select the last member of a four-member team to make space travel later this year. The project is positioned as a charity aimed at raising funds to research new methods of cancer treatment in children. Isaacman himself and another anonymous businessman will pay for their tickets, another one will receive a representative of St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Memphis, and the jury of the competition will determine the lucky winner of the fourth.
The technical part of the project is being implemented by SpaceX; space tourists will fly on the Crew Dragon spacecraft. All of them will undergo appropriate training, but as Elon Musk assured, if you have experience in roller coaster riding, you are already ready to fly. The trip itself is called multi-day, but how long it will last and what the four people inside the capsule will be doing all this time is not specified.
Participation in the competition is free, you just need to create an account in the Shift4Shop online store, start using its services, then record and publish a video about your impressions on Twitter. The more likes a video gets, the better the chances of winning, but they can also be improved by making an official donation to St. Jude’s Hospital. The time for submission of applications is limited, the winner must be determined by the middle Martha.
