Snowfalls close U.S. COVID-19 vaccine distribution centers

A winter storm in the northeastern United States has led to the closure of vaccination centers and disrupted other pandemic-related services in many states, where up to 30 centimeters of snow can fall.

National Weather Service meteorologist Lara Pagano said the cyclone, forming off the US mid-Atlantic coast, will “move quite slowly”, bringing with it heavy snowfall and strong winds that will continue until Tuesday.

Snow fell in Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut and New Jersey.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy has closed six major COVID-19 vaccine distribution centers due to weather conditions.
