Due to the coronavirus pandemic, former light heavyweight champion Sergei Kovalev has not yet fought a single fight this year. “Crusher” has less than two months to enter the ring, and there is no information about his next fight. This means that, most likely, the 37-year-old boxer will return next year.
However, Kovalev does not lose his optimism and is aiming at the return of the champion title. The Russian spoke about this ambitious goal on his Instagram page.
“Not in this one, so next year I will again become the world champion,” wrote Sergei Kovalev.

Recall that Kovalev spent his last fight in November last year, losing by knockout in the 11th round to Saul Alvarez. In that fight “Crusher” lost the WBO world title.
In October, Kovalev’s manager Egis Klimas said that his ward could fight until the end of the year, but since then there has been no specifics on this matter.
