Ukrainian middleweight Sergei Derevyanchenko announced that he will continue his boxing career, despite the third unsuccessful attempt to win the championship title. Last weekend, Technician lost by unanimous decision to WBC champion Jermall Charlo. A few days later, Derevyanchenko reached out to his fans via Instagram, assuring them that he would move on.
“Time to say something. Before and after the fight, I received many messages, comments and calls from people I know and don’t know.
I was pleased to know how many people believed in my victory. And now it’s sad to know that someone was devastated after my defeat. It means a lot to me. It means that the message that I am giving is going right.
We, athletes, perform for people. To turn on the TV or sit in the stands, you get the emotions of joy. We unite people in a single emotional outburst. But as sad as it is, sometimes this emotion is the emptiness of failure.
Therefore, I will continue to do my job and try even more and better. It is for those who believe in me!
Thanks to my family and friends, friends, team and fans from different countries. All will be! Everything will definitely be there, “Derevyanchenko wrote.
