Senator Portman participates in COVID-19 vaccine trials

Ohio Republican Senator Rob Portman has announced that he is participating in the third phase of clinical trials of a COVID-19 vaccine being developed by the American multinational Johnson & Johnson.

Portman, 64, said he hopes to build public confidence in vaccines as America prepares to vaccinate against the coronavirus that causes COVID-19.

“Getting a safe and effective vaccine is the most important thing we can do to defeat COVID19,” Portman tweeted. “I encourage people to participate in trials and have confidence in a vaccine once it is approved by the FDA.”
