Senate Defense Bill Delayed

Senate Defense Bill Delayed
US NEWS

The Senate Defense Policy Bill has been postponed due to objections from Senator Rand Paul.

A Republican senator from Kentucky opposes a provision limiting President Donald Trump’s powers to withdraw troops from Afghanistan and Germany.

Paul’s objections raise the likelihood of a partial closure of the government in case these disputes fail to pass the interim budget by Friday.

According to Paul, if the controversial position is adopted, the country will have “535 Supreme Commanders” (according to the number of members of Congress). The initiative will prevent the president from deploying troops at will.

Trump himself has threatened to veto the bill.
