Xiaomi sub-brand POCO held an online event at which it showed its new budget smartphone POCO M3.
What is known
The novelty received a unique appearance with an unusual camera design, a plastic case with a leather-like surface and three colors: Power Black, Cool Blue and POCO Yellow. Under the hood, the device is powered by an 11nm Qualcomm Snapdragon 662 processor. The chip comes paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB or 128GB of storage. It can be expanded with a memory card. By the way, the slot in the smartphone is not hybrid. That is, you can install two SIM and microSD at the same time.
One of the main features of the POCO M3 is the 6000mAh battery. This is now not a record figure, but the manufacturer assures that under light load the device will live up to 5 days, with an average of about 3 days, and with an intensive load – one and a half days. How true this is, we will find out as soon as the device gets to our editorial office. Charges the battery using an 18-watt USB-C charging port.
In addition, the POCO M3 has a 6.53-inch display with FHD + resolution, IPS-matrix and a standard refresh rate of 60 Hz. The screen has a teardrop notch on which placed 8 megapixel front camera. The main one, in turn, has three sensors of 48 Mp + 2 Mp + 2 Mp. The new product has stereo speakers, an IR sensor for controlling equipment and a side scanner. The NFC module, it seems, has not been delivered.
Out of the box, the device runs on Android 10. The MIUI 12 shell and Poco launcher are installed on top of the system. The smartphone will be updated to Android 11, but later.
