Philip Hrgovich – Alexander Kartozia: a quick and convincing victory for a Croat

Yesterday in Denmark, a duel took place between 28-year-old bronze medalist of the 2016 Olympics Philip Hrgovich (Croatia) and 39-year-old Alexander Kartozia (Georgia).

It took the Croatian boxer only 2 rounds to remove the opponent from the ring. Khrgovich literally destroyed Kartosia with a powerful right blow to the jaw. The fight was completed ahead of schedule, after which the Croat continued his ascent to the unconquered peaks in the heavyweight division.

Prior to this fight, the boxer was in the top 10 according to the IBF and WBC and was considered one of the most promising heavyweight fighters. Yesterday’s success allowed Hrgovic to bring the win score to 11-0.

According to his former rival, Tom Little:

“Hrgovich will be the dominant force as soon as Tyson Fury hangs up his gloves. He’s pretty damn good. This is another Wladimir Klitschko. You won’t find a heavyweight with such a strong punch today.”
