Demonstrators took to the streets of Philadelphia on Wednesday night, and gangs of looters began looting shops after police shot and killed a black man with a knife on Monday.
One group marched peacefully for most of the night, shouting the name of the shot Walter Wallace and chanting, “Whose streets? Our streets! “
However, outside the police station, the protest became violent when a large crowd clashed with a group of police officers. Several people began to throw stones, bulbs and bricks at the guards.
One police officer was injured.
In another part of the city, groups of people began looting, police said on Twitter and a local TV station.
Aerial photos show people robbing a Foot Locker shoe store, others taking TVs and other goods from Walmart.
