More than 70 cadets at the West Point Military Academy have been accused of fraudulently taking an online math exam during their distance learning due to the coronavirus pandemic.
An academy spokesman said 55 cadets had confessed to breaking the rules for the May exam.
Most of them have been enrolled in the rehabilitation program and will be on probation until the end of their studies at West Point.
The fraud became known when teachers noticed some oddities in their grades.
It is reported that one of the cadets was a sophomore while the rest were in their freshman year.
It is the largest fraud scandal in West Point since 1976, when 153 cadets resigned or were expelled for cheating on an electrical engineering exam.
