In early September, OnePlus launched OxygenOS 11 open shell testing with Android 11 on board for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro, and has now released a stable version of the system.
What is known
The firmware weighs 3 GB and, as you can tell from the size, there are many changes in it. First of all, the developers changed the look of the shell. It is now optimized for one-handed operation and is very similar to the One UI on Samsung smartphones. Also in the firmware, some standard application shortcuts, branded fonts and a dark theme with fast switching in the notification curtain were updated.
Also, the system finally added the mode Always-on display. He got a lot of different widgets and a Canvas function. It displays the outlines of portrait photos on the desktop when the screen is off. They also installed a fresh security patch and Zen Mode 2.0 with three themes and the ability to invite friends or family to digital detoxification together.
When to expect
As usual, the update is spreading in waves. If you don’t want to wait for your turn, the firmware can be downloaded from the Oxygen Updater application and installed manually.
