Official: Huawei Mate 40 flagships will receive beta version of HarmonyOS on December 16


After several months of rumors and leaks, Huawei announced the start date for testing the proprietary HarmonyOS system on smartphones.

Who will receive it and when

So, according to Mai Yumin, Vice President of Huawei Software, the mobile beta is HarmonyOS will be released on December 16th. The owners of the flagship devices Mate 40, Mate 40 Pro, Mate 40 Pro + and Mate 40 RS Porsche Design in China will be the first to test it. What other devices are planning to update, there is no official information yet. According to the leaks, more than 40 models will receive HarmonyOS, including the yet-to-be-revealed Honor V40 and Huawei Nova 8.

Recall that HarmonyOS (aka HongMeng OS for China) is a proprietary Huawei operating system. It was introduced in 2019. It received a major update this September.
