Former WBA and IBF World Heavyweight Champion Murat Gassiev (26-1, 19 KOs) decided to leave his promoters, who, in his own words, did not fulfill their obligations well, for a long time not allowing the Russian to enter the ring.
Note that earlier Gassiev’s affairs were jointly managed by two promotion companies – Warriors Boxing and Ural Boxing Promotions.
“My contract with my promoters has come to an end. I am not going to renew it, since they did not fulfill the terms of this agreement in good faith – they did not give fights. Now I am getting a license in Russia and preparing for a fight on October 31 in Sochi,” Gassiev said in a conversation with the TASS news agency.
Gassiev, who turned 27 this Monday, will finally make his long-awaited heavyweight debut on October 31st against Albanian Sefer Seferi (24-3-1, 22 KOs) at the WOW Arena in Sochi. The ex-champion did not enter the ring for more than two years, losing in his last fight to the Ukrainian boxer Alexander Usik.
