Bad news for fans of Irish featherweight title contender (57.2kg) Michael Conlan (14-0-0, 8 KO).
As reported by BoxingNews24.com, Conlan has an ankle injury and will not be able to fight the former Ghanaian Isaac Dogbo (21-2-0, 15 KO) on December 5th. According to the fighter himself, it will take him from 8 to 12 weeks to recover.
In his last fight in August, Conlan stopped ahead of schedule in the 10th round of the French ex-challenger Sophian Takushta (35-5-1, 13 KO).
“I have no words, but I will have to announce that I will not compete on December 5th due to a ligament rupture that occurred in training on Wednesday. Now I am at home and recovering,” the fighter wrote on his Twitter.
