According to BoxingScene.com, ex-world lightweight champion (up to 63.5 kg), American Maurice Hooker (27-1-3, 18 KO) is in talks with PBC about a fight with the former lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg ), compatriot Robert Easter Jr. (21-1-1, 14 KO).
If successful, the fight scheduled for twelve rounds will be held within the intermediate weight up to 145 lbs (65.77 kg). Hooker’s coach Brian McIntyre also said that if he wins, his player hopes to be promoted to the “regular” WBA welterweight champion (up to 66.7 kg), Cuban Yordenis Ugas (26-4-0, 12 KO).
Easter last October outboxed the hard-core Mexican gatekeeper Adrian Granados (20-8-2, 14 KO) in ten rounds. Hooker in December stopped Mexican Yuriel Perez in the starting three-minute (19-5-0, 17 KO).
