Last Friday, the super middleweight MMA (76.2 kg) was replenished with another star – Mario Abel Casares (12-0, 5 KO), who defeated Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. in 6 rounds (51-5-1 33 KO) ahead of schedule. The judges credited Chavez with a forfeit after hitting the opponent, which led to a strong cut over the left eye.
At the end of the fight, Casares said he was “not going to stop there.” Having switched rather late by modern standards to professional boxing (2015), the fighter was looking for a suitable opponent for a long time, a victory over whom would glorify him, and eventually achieved his goal. However, the appetite comes with eating and Mario, apparently, has already chosen the next “victim” – this is one of the best Mexican boxers in the first middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez (53-1-2 36 KOs). The fighters have already met at the amateur level in 2004, then the victory was celebrated by Casares. Addressing Canelo, Mario said:
“Once I made you cry, now I will put you to bed”,
and then promised to “knock down all the freckles” and added that he was ready to fight in any weight category.
