Egis Klimas, manager of former united world lightweight champion Vasily Lomachenko, is outraged by the work of judge Julie Lederman, who gave his ward just one round in a rather competitive fight against Teofimo Lopez.
“Should she be banned for life from judging in boxing? That’s my question,” Klimas told ESPN.
Manager Lomachenko said that his team initially protested against Lederman’s appointment for this fight. According to Klimas, in the Lomachenko camp they asked that the judges from California (where the Ukrainian boxer trained) and from New York (where Lopez was born) should not work in the fight with Lopez. However, in the end, Lederman was assigned to this fight, despite the fact that she also represents New York.
“I give 100 percent that she will no longer judge the fights of my fighters as long as I stay in boxing,” Klimas summed up.
