Today, the Nevada State Sports Commission has appointed a panel of judges for Saturday’s fight between Vasily Lomachenko and Teofimo Lopez. Experts note that the panel of judges includes experienced specialists who had previously worked in the fights of both boxers.
The 12-round lightweight title fight at the MGM Grand Conference Center will be judged by Tim Chatham (NV), Julie Lederman (New York), Steve Weisfeld (New Jersey). The commission also appointed Russell More, a veteran referee from Nevada, to take part in the fight.
What boxing fights did these experts judge?
Steve Weissfeld was on the panel of judges in the Lomachenko-Pedraza match and gave a score of 117-109.
Liderman and Weisfeld also judged the Lomachenko-Linares fight, respectively– 85-85 and 86-84.
As for the American boxer, Lederman and Weissfeld worked on Lopez’s last fight. Both gave the first round to Lopez, and in the second he knocked out Commee.
Tim Cheatham was refereeing Lopez’s professional debut match when the American knocked out Siqueiros in the second round, and Russell Mora was a referee in Lomachenko’s first pro fight against Ramirez in 2013. That fight ended with an early victory of the Ukrainian in round 4.
