The WBC / WBO world champion in the light welterweight (up to 63.5 kg), American Jose Ramirez (26-0-0, 17 KO) commented on the performance of his potential rival, Briton Josh Taylor (17-0-0, 13 KO), who knocked out Thai Apinun Hongsong in the opening round last Saturday (16-1-0, 13 KO).
“I didn’t watch the fight, but apparently there was nothing to watch,” Ramirez said in an interview with BoxingScene.com.
The fighter’s manager, Rick Miridjan, is confident that now Taylor will consider himself a clear favorite without much reason:
“It was awful. Even Bob Arum could have thrown this Thai on the left and got that result. Hopefully Taylor now has fake confidence.”
