Jervonta Davis on Possible Weighing Failure: “There’s a lot of money at stake”

“Regular” WBA lightweight champion (up to 61.2 kg), American Jervonta Davis (23-0-0, 22 KO), discussing at the final press conference the upcoming fight with Mexican Leo Santa Cruz (37-1-1, 19 KO ), talked about how things are with his weight 48 hours before the fight.

Recall that Davis has already failed the weigh-in in his career, which is why he lost the IBF title at 130 pounds in August 2018. Last December, the American took the title for the first time at 135 pounds, which, to the public’s surprise, was given to him only on the second try.

“Weight is ok [смеется]… We just have to wait for tomorrow. Of course, I can handle the 130 pounds, since there is a lot of money at stake. Without a doubt, I will succeed, “said the fighter.
