The United States on Thursday recorded a record daily increase in cases of COVID-19 infection since the beginning of the pandemic – more than 117,000 cases.
News of the rapid spread of the virus comes as voters await the final results of the presidential election.
“The virus haunts us all,” said Ohio Gov. Mike Devine. “This virus doesn’t care if we voted for Donald Trump or Joe Biden.”
The United States accounts for 9.6 million of the 48.6 million reported cases worldwide.
