The WBC lightweight world champion (up to 61.2 kg), American Devin Haney (24-0-0, 15 KO) was skeptical about the idea that a good performance against the Cuban Yuriorkis Gamboa (30-3-0, 18 KO) help him in organizing big fights.
“To be honest, I feel like I have to look bad to get all these guys into the ring with me. The better I look, the more they run.
And yet, I intend to do my job, beat Gamboa like never before and make a statement, ”Haney said.
Earlier in an interview, the fighter spoke about his possible transition to the next division.
