Facebook’s profits soared significantly in the last quarter of last year, as people forced to spend their holidays amid the pandemic used the leading social network for work and play.
Facebook posted a profit of $ 11.2 billion on revenue of $ 28 billion. These indicators increased by 53 and 33 percent, respectively, compared to the same period last year.
“We ended the year very well as people and companies continued to use our services during these challenging times,” said Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
The company said its main social network had 2.8 billion users at the end of December. That said, 3.3 billion people have used at least one of its “family” of applications, including Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger.
