Ex-title challenger Alex Saucedo retires with two brain hemorrhages

Top Rank fighter, 26-year-old American welterweight Alex Saucedo (30-2-0, 19 KOs) retired with a severe head injury in his last fight against compatriot Arnold Barbosa Jr. (25-0-0, 10 KO ), which took place on the undercard of the evening “Lomachenko – Lopez” in mid-October. This was announced by journalist Mike Coppinger.

Recall that the fighters rolled a 10-round sluggfest, according to the results of which Barbosa, having overworked the opponent, came out the winner. Saucedo was promptly hospitalized and, one way or another, saved from serious consequences due to the timely intervention of doctors.

The boxer was found to have two (!) Cerebral hemorrhages, 6 and 10 mm in area, after which an urgent operation was performed. Now Saucedo is recovering with his family. His team has already announced that he will no longer perform.
