Didn’t agree: Saul Alvarez re-sued DAZN and Golden Boy

The story continues with a litigation between the leader of the ranking of the best boxers in the world, Mexican champion in four weights Saul Alvarez (53-1-2, 36 KO), and his management from Golden Boy and DAZN.

According to BoxingScene.com, the fighter has re-filed a lawsuit against Golden Boy and DAZN USA, the case has been transferred to the California Supreme Court for Los Angeles County.

Like the first time, Alvarez accuses management of numerous contract violations for $ 365 millionwhich he concluded in 2018. Interestingly, it was stated in the contract that neither of the parties should disclose its details, including the amount, which Golden Boy did, immediately after signing, trying in a similar way to attract attention to himself and DAZN, at that time only entering to the US boxing market.

According to the case file, after DAZN refused to pay Alvarez a guaranteed fee of $ 35 million, the fighter gave Golden Boy several weeks to find an alternative solution, but, according to the prosecution, the promotion did not.

To date, Canelo is demanding termination of the contract and compensation for the remaining amount under the contract, which is about 280 million for eight foiled battles. Compensation is also requested for legal fees and the work of lawyers.
