International WBO lightweight champion Denis Berinchik (12-0, 7 KOs) spoke about his preparation for the upcoming fight with Romanian boxer Viorel Simion (22-3, 9 KOs), which will take place on October 8th.
“We studied the opponent. He will always go forward, this is his style. Viorel is persistent, often uses side strikes. He also has a good straight jab. We reviewed many of his fights, he faced serious opponents, owned various titles,” Berinchik during an open training session at the ALL STARS boxing club.
“In the training camp, we worked out various combinations, for a specific opponent. Many still depend on what physical and psychological state he will be in. On October 8 we will see everything in the ring. We had 3 weeks of general physical training, then there were sparrings. Yesterday we had an extreme sparring – session. Everything is fine, no injuries, we are going according to plan. “
Berinchik also speculated about what awaits him next if he once again manages to defend his belt:
“First, I need to defend my title of International WBO Champion. In turn, Vasily Lomachenko is preparing for a serious fight. And after his fight with Lopez, it will become known whether the WBO will host a tournament of the four strongest who will remain in the world rankings, including WBO rankings “.
We remind that Berinchik fought for the last time in February of this year, having won by unanimous decision over Argentine boxer Hector Sarmiento.
