Today, WBA world champion Jervonta Davis is training near where Lomachenko and Lopez will battle it out in a few hours for the overall lightweight title. However, Gervonta doesn’t even think about attending the match. The reason is the same – the Covid 19 pandemic. Nevertheless, the undefeated native of Baltimore will closely monitor this confrontation on ESPN.
Gervonta himself is currently focused on preparing for the fight against Leo Santa Cruz, but he has his own interest in the match Lomachenko – Lopez.
Unlike most experts, Gervonta refused to give predictions for the battle, but assessed the scale of the event:
“I want to say that boxing will win tonight. A young lion is entering the ring against a veteran. I will definitely watch and my eyes will follow the winner. But now I do not want to make predictions, let the strongest celebrate the victory.”
In the fight with Lopez, Lomachenko will defend the WBA, WBO belts and the WBC franchise championship. In turn, Lopez will put the IBF champion belt on the line.
