Former world champion in the first heavyweight and heavyweight division David Haye believes that Alexander Usyk can give a competitive fight to the current WBA / WBO / IBF heavyweight title holder Anthony Joshua, if the latter decides to compete in boxing, instead of crushing his opponent through physical superiority.
“Will Usyk give Joshua trouble? It depends on whether Anthony does a boxing match or takes advantage of his size advantage. Physically, Joshua is vastly superior to Usyk in terms of punching power and athleticism.”
If AJ manages to take advantage of this in a tough fight, he can deal with Usyk quite easily. But if Joshua arranges an amateur duel at a long distance, as it was in the rematch with Andy Ruiz, then everything can be very difficult, because Usyk thrives in long-range combat. He’s the best at this.
It’s an interesting fight. I think Joshua needs to use the tactics that Tyson Fury used against Deontay Wilder. Fury used his size and just cut Wilder down, “David Haye told Sky Sports.
