David Allen on the fight with Lovejoy: “I don’t deserve to be in the top 50 by winning him.”

British heavyweight contender David Allen (18-5-2, 15 KO) ironically commented on the upcoming fight against American prospect Christopher Lovejoy (19-0-0, 19 KO), which will take place this Saturday in London.

“The heavier he gets, the better for me. He’s a big guy and I don’t think he weighed less than 16.5 stones. [100 кг] since he was 12. I hope he gets into the ring with a weight of 450 pounds [200 кг]… No kidding, if it’s hard, it won’t survive the first round. And I am speaking by facts. He spent only 21 rounds in his career and fought with no one knows who.

People talk about his record, but by beating him I won’t make it into the top 15 – I won’t even make it into the top 50. I have only 35 fights in “amateurs” and professionals, but even here I will pass for an experienced guy. Sparring with Usyk turned me on and now I’m ready, “Allen said.
