WBO welterweight champion (66.7 kg) American Terence Crawford (36-0-0, 27 KO) spoke out about the controversial incident in his last performance against Lithuanian challenger Egis Kavaliauskas (22-1-1, 18 KO) last December of the year.
Recall that in the 3rd round, Kavalyauskas hit Crawford with his right hooks, after which he touched the canvas with a glove, but the referee missed the episode.
“When I touched the canvas, some of them said:“ Ooh, he dropped it! ”, And some thought they pushed me. Whatever happened then, I got angry. Then I firmly decided that I would knock this guy out. And I’ve always said that if I can withstand your blow, I’ll come for you.
And every time I walked up to him and hit, I heard his sighs. And I saw in his face that he no longer wants to fight. At that moment I was like a lion chasing a lame antelope, ”Crawford said.
