Insider OnLeaks continues to reveal the details and appearance of new Sony smartphones. The other day he showed Xperia Compact and Xperia 10 III, and has now declassified the flagship Xperia 1 III.
What is known
According to the leak, the device will receive a glass case with flat metal edges and a thickness of 8.4 mm (9.6 mm with a protruding camera). Externally, the novelty will be very similar to last year’s Xperia 1 II, but the device will become a little more compact. OnLeaks credits the Xperia 1 III with a 6.5-inch OLED 4K HDR display with thin bezels, triple camera with 3D ToF sensor and ZEISS optics. By the way, one of the modules will be periscopic.
Also, the Xperia 1 III will receive support for a 5G network, a headphone jack, a slot for a microSD card, a side fingerprint scanner and front-facing stereo speakers. There is no information about the new chip yet, but it is easy to guess that it will be SoC Snapdragon 888.
Editorial staff gg I am convinced that this race for record thinness is inherently flawed. Especially considering these ridiculous protruding camera modules in modern smartphones. None of the users will die from an extra couple of millimeters of the case, but the camera will not protrude, the surface will be less damaged when dropped, and the additional volume inside the case can be used for a battery with a larger capacity, which is never too much.
When to expect
The announcement of the Sony Xperia 1 III should take place in the near future.
By the way, a few days ago the Japanese manufacturer launched the Xperia Pro, a smartphone for professional videographers for $ 2499.
