On October 31, Gervonta Davis (23-0) and Leo Santa Cruz (37-1-1) face off in a duel for the WBA light and first lightweight titles. The fight will take place in San Antonio, Texas, at the Alamodome Stadium, which is being refurbished in accordance with quarantine requirements.
Leo Santa Cruz has been in professional boxing since 2006 and during this time has managed to win titles at 118, 122, 126 and 130 pounds. Davis has less experience, but has already become a champion in two divisions and is one of the most promising fighters in his category.
IBF-USBA World Junior Middleweight Champion Charles Conwell suggests Santa Cruz is overestimating his strength by entering the ring against a Davis-level rival. In an interview with Boxing.scene.com, he said:
“I don’t think that Leo will succeed, however, if I’m wrong, we will see a great fight. I see that“ Tank ”is physically stronger, he is younger, fresher and with a high degree of probability I predict his victory. I’m a new generation fighter and of course I’ll be rooting for Davis. “
