CDC: The number of deaths from COVID-19 in the United States approached 230 thousand

The Federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said on Sunday that the number of coronavirus cases in the United States reached 9,105,230, up 80,932 cases from the previous day.

The number of deaths increased by 823, reaching 229,932.

The agency reported data on the respiratory disease COVID-19 caused by the new coronavirus, as of 4 p.m. Saturday, and compared them with data obtained a day earlier.

CDC figures do not necessarily reflect cases reported by individual states.
