Barbosa Jr .: “No more procrastination – I want a champion fight!”


On the undercard of the fight Lomachenko – Lopez, Arnold Barbosa Jr. (25-0, 10 KOs)dated Alex Saucedo(30-2, 19 KOs)and defeated him in 10 rounds by unanimous decision – 96:93; 97-92; 97-92. After the match, the fighter shared his impressions:

“For me it was like a championship fight. And half of the victory today belongs to my father (and part-time coach). And now I want a real championship fight. No more pauses and passing fights.”

The first 4 rounds were held at high speed. Already in the 1st round, Barbosa broke his opponent’s nose when he came out from under him and hit the top of his head. At the beginning of the 7th round, Barbosa was on the canvas. The referee considered that the boxer slipped, but later this fall was qualified as a knockdown. For Saucedo, this was the second defeat in his last 4 fights.
