Four-time world champion, Olympic champion Yuri Vlasov died at the age of 85. Arnold considered Vlasov to be his idol. “He was truly one of a kind, and I hope that each of us can find inspiration in his story,” added The Terminator in its post. When Arnold first saw his idol, he noted that he was not only the strongest, but also a deeply thinking person. According to Schwarzenegger, Vlasov talked a lot about poetry and always carried books with him. “He told me that the strength of the body is nothing compared to the strength of the mind. He was one of the strongest people in the world and believed that real strength comes from words, ”the actor admires Yuri.
Arnold expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the weightlifter. He expressed the hope that the story of the great athlete will definitely inspire people. During his life, Yuri Vlasov set 31 world records and 41 USSR records. Later he headed the Weightlifting Federation and the Athletics Federation of the Soviet Union, was a deputy in the USSR, then sat in the State Duma of the Russian Federation.
