Apple to stop replacing broken iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini with new ones

Apple removed the included power supply from the iPhone 12 this year to protect the environment. As it turned out, this decision was only the beginning.

What’s the matter

According to the publication MacRumors, Apple, is revising repair guidelines for iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini to reduce carbon footprint. Previously, when the motherboard, Face ID or other components broke, the company changed the smartphone to a new one. Now the broken devices will be repaired.

All Apple authorized services have already received special block. It includes the back of the smartphone and the main components apart from the display and camera. That is, if users have problems not related to damage to the screen and sensors, then they will be installed this block.

The new repair rules will come into force from 23 february… They will be valid in all regions where iPhone 12 and iPhone 12 mini are sold.
