US President-elect Joe Biden plans to appoint Congresswoman Marcia Fudge as Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, and reappoint former Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack.
Four anonymous sources familiar with the situation told the Associated Press on Tuesday.
Fudge, who previously headed the African American Caucus in Congress, has just been re-elected to the House of Representatives for a seventh term. It represents the predominantly African American county in Ohio. It includes some areas of Cleveland and Akron.
Vilsack served eight years as Secretary of Agriculture under the Barack Obama administration and was Governor of Iowa for two terms.
